Challenge Overview
- Duration: Each challenge runs for 4 weeks
- Participants: Individuals (called “Eggs”) and teams
- Goal: Hit or exceed your weekly activity target to earn Exercise Points and climb the leaderboard
How It Works
1. Starting Point
Every Egg begins the challenge at Level 1, with a modest weekly activity target designed to ease you in.
2. Weekly Targets
Your weekly target is based on your current Level. As you progress, your target increases—challenging you to do more over time.
3. Levels
There are 15 Levels in total.
- Level 1 = 150 Exercise Points/week
- Level 4 = 300 Exercise Points/week
- Level 15 = 3,300 Exercise Points/week
Your Level can change each week based on your performance:
- Promotion: Achieve the target for the next higher Level → you move up
- Demotion: Score under 50% of your current target → you drop a level
4. Exercise Points
Exercise Points are earned through workouts logged via your fitness wearable. They are calculated using:
- Duration of your workout (in minutes)
- Intensity, based on your heart rate and effort level
Strength workouts receive a 25% bonus.
5. Data Collection
The NestEgg app automatically syncs with your fitness wearable (e.g. Apple Watch, Fitbit, Garmin) to collect the data needed to calculate your Exercise Points.
6. NestEgg Score
Your NestEgg Score is a performance score:
NestEgg Score = (Exercise Points / Weekly Target) × 100
This shows how much of your weekly target you’ve achieved. A score of 100% means you've hit your goal. Over 100% means you've exceeded it.
7. The Weekly Leaderboard
Each week, a live leaderboard ranks Eggs based on their NestEgg Scores (percentage of their weekly target achieved).
- Scores reset every Monday
- The leaderboard updates in real-time as workouts are submitted
- You can view each Egg's Exercise Points and current position
8. NestEgg Nuggets
At the end of each week, your NestEgg Score (your exercise points vs. your personal target) determines your ranking on the weekly leaderboard. Nuggets are awarded as follows:
- 1st place: 10 Nuggets
- 2nd place: 9 Nuggets
- 3rd place: 8 Nuggets
- 4th place: 7 Nuggets
- 5th place: 6 Nuggets
- Hit your weekly target (but not Top 5): 4 Nuggets
- Complete at least two strength workouts in the week: 2 Nuggets
- Hit 50%+ of target: 1 Nugget
- Less than 50%: 0 Nuggets
This means consistency beats one-off heroics. Show up each week, and the Nuggets will stack.
The Comeback Bonus
NestEgg rewards improvement, not just performance. Each week, you can earn extra Nuggets if you show progress:
- +1 Nugget if your score improves compared to last week
- +2 Nuggets if you missed your target last week but hit 110% or more this week
Team Nuggets
Your Nest team matters too. Each week, your team’s average NestEgg Score is calculated. Teams are ranked, and Nuggets are awarded as follows:
- 1st place team: 10 Nuggets
- 2nd place: 9 Nuggets
- 3rd place: 8 Nuggets
- 4th place: 6 Nuggets
- 5th place: 4 Nuggets
- 6th place: 2 Nuggets
9. The Challenge Leaderboard
This is the ultimate scoreboard—ranking Eggs and teams based on the total number of Nuggets earned over all 4 weeks.

- Cumulative Exercise Points
- Cumulative NestEgg Score
- Cumulative Exercise Points
Level Progression: Climb or Fall
- Promotion: Achieve the next level’s target → move up a level
- Higher Stakes: Higher levels require more effort to maintain or exceed 100%
- Demotion: Drop one level if you earn <50% of your current weekly target
- Easier Recovery: Lower levels have easier targets, helping you bounce back
Winning the Challenge
At the end of the 4-week challenge:
- The individual and team with the most NestEgg Nuggets are crowned the winners
- Awards are based on cumulative performance, not just one big week
